Privacy Policy

Iqra app (ID net.qriq.iqra) — Effective date: October 8, 2026

In short: no account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no crash reporting. We do not collect, sell or share personal data. Your coordinates never leave your device.

1. Stored only on your device

The following stays inside the app on your phone, is never sent to us, and is removed when you delete the app:

• Your approximate location or the city you chose, and recent cities.
• Calculation method, alert, muezzin and appearance settings.
• Bookmarks, last reading position, khatma plan and favourite hadith.
• Downloaded recitations, and the cached content and prayer tables used offline.

Adhan and reminder notifications are scheduled locally on your device; there is no push server.

2. Location

Location access is optional. If you allow it, the app requests approximate location while in use only, to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction on your device. It never requests precise or background location and never tracks you. You can pick your city by hand instead.

Official times in Iraq: when the calculation method is the Iraqi Fiqh Council's and you are within 25 km of one of the 19 cities it publishes tables for, the app asks our server for that city's table. The request carries only the city name (e.g. "baghdad") with the year and month — no coordinates and no identifier — and is served from a table shared by everyone in that city. We keep nothing from your request.

3. What the app connects to

All connections use HTTPS, and all of them download public content; none carries personal data:

• App server (Supabase) — content updates (adhkar, hadith, occasions, reciter list, in-app announcements) and Iraq's official prayer tables.
• audio.qriq.net (Cloudflare) — recitation files, ayah timings and full adhan recordings.
• mp3quran.net, everyayah.com — additional recitations streamed directly from these public sites.

Like any website, a server you connect to sees your IP address and the file requested in order to deliver it, and hosting providers (Supabase, Cloudflare and the public sites above) may keep standard operational logs for a short period under their own policies. We do not use such logs to identify or track you, and we do not link them to anyone.

4. Things you do yourself

• Sharing cards uses your phone's share sheet; you choose the destination.
• Saving cards to Photos uses add-only photo access, only to save the card you designed.
• External links (such as a hadith source) open in your browser and are governed by that site's policy.

5. Permissions

• Approximate location (while in use) — prayer times and Qibla. Optional.
• Notifications — adhan and reminders.
• Exact alarms (Android) — so the adhan arrives on time.
• Background audio — recitation keeps playing with the screen locked.
• Add to Photos — saving cards.

6. Children

We do not collect personal data from any user, including children.

7. Your rights and data deletion

Because we keep no personal data about you on our servers, there is nothing for us to delete or export. All your data is on your device: delete downloads from Settings, or remove everything by deleting the app.

8. Changes

If this policy changes (for example, if a new feature needs new data), we will publish the new version here with a new effective date before the release that includes the change.
